3DModels.org has launched its latest creative showdown, the Re:Novation ArchViz 3D Challenge. It is calling all architects, visualizers, and digital dreamers to reinvent a simple house model into architectural masterpieces.
It’s different from another CGI rendering contests. It’s a fresh take on leveling the field, much like their past car challenges, but now focused on architectural visualization where every participants starts with the exact same base structure.
What is the Novation ArchViz 3D Challenge
3DModels.org is back with a fresh contest for architectural visualization. This year, the challenge is called Re: Novation. It invites 3D artists to take a single building model and transform it into a masterpiece. Whether you are into photorealistic renders or stylized art, this is your chance to get fame.
This challenge is all about versatility. Every participant starts with the exact same 3D house model. Your job is to “renovate” it. You can turn it into a luxury hotel, a cozy cafe, a futuristic museum, or even a set of ruins.
The goal is to see how different artists use their imagination when given the same foundation. You can modify the structure, add new sections, and build a complete environment around it. The only rule is that the original building must remain recognizable.
Human creativity vs AI: The strict rule
So many AI tools can give out photorealistic scenes in seconds. That’s why Re:Novation draws a hard line of not using artificial intelligence.
In keeping with the spirit of craftsmanship, AI tools are not allowed. 3DModels.org wants to celebrate the technical skills of human artists. You must show your progress through a “Work-in-Progress” (WIP) link. This ensures the community sees your project growing from the base model to the final render.
You can 3D softwares like Blender, Cinema 4D, or Unreal Engine, and many more honing skills that AI can’t replicate. Past challenges from the same team showed how this constraint sparks innovation by turning simple models into viral portfolio pieces.
