Job Description of VFX Compositing jobs
Compositors are responsible for seamlessly integrating all the layers or elements of a shot, including live-action and computer graphic elements with minimum support and guidance from the Compositing Leads and Supervisors. In addition to the above, being able to handle cleanup and roto tasks on their shots is an added advantage. We are looking for a complete VFX artist, who can solve complex shots of shooting plates and 3D render passes.
The details below provide an outline of the key requirements for candidates to apply for a role in this department. We have a number of job classifications in the category of Nuke compositor. These are:
- Junior / Fresher Artist
- Mid Artist
- Senior Artist
Based on your skills and VFX art, we will assess your suitability for a particular role of Visual Effects artist during the application process.
Responsibilities
- Checking day-to-day operations of the Lighting and Compositing team.
- Maintain the visual style of entire sequence
- Quick to adapt new challenges
- Manage all 3D render passes, live action shooting plates, survey data for matchmoving and tracking shots, matte painting and other elements
- Knowledge of manipulating macros and final comps
- Must know how to download VFX stock footages and how to use them
- Follow proper guidelines of post production workflow
- Managing dailies
- How to communicate with clients and other team leads
- Create Nuke scrips that can easily be integrated into the compositing pipeline
- Optimize the VFX workflow and pipeline to save the post production time
- Periodic review, QC & tech check
Qualifications & Skills of VFX Compositor Artist
- Seamless integration of live action, Blue/Green screen, CGI sources.
- Strong knowledge in Nuke.
- Work closely with the supervisors and leads in house.
- Communicate well with the team and leads to overcome any delay in tighter deadline.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Compositing team and other VFX departments.
- The VFX artist should have strong creative eye and problem-solving attitude.
- Artist with strong understanding of comp techniques (2D +CG) to creatively assess and determine best possible output.
- Should be able to work under strict deadline in changing environment/needs, expected to work on complex prep/clean up shots if required.
- Good know-how of VFX workflow with CG process from start to finish.
- The compositing jobs also need strong 2D / 3D tracking and matchmoving skills.
- Must be able to manage colour script and final layout validation.
- Should be able to use macro / gizmo for repetitive tasks
Software
- Foundry Nuke
Any of the following is a bonus
- The VFX animator should have basic 3D knowledge
- A good caliber of paint and roto artist
- International project exposure would be a plus
- Previous experience with Visual Effects in advertising domain
- Earlier experience of freelance VFX projects
- Programming abilities (Python, C, C##) are a plus

Salary
- Rs. 15,000 to 25,000 per month for the position of Nuke Compositor artist
