CG Spectrum is the eminent College of Digital Art & Animation based at Australia. It is an online school for Animation, Visual Effects, Modeling and Concept Design. It was co-founded by the Directors Nick Fredin and Jeff Pepper in 2011 at Australia. Both are veteran CG and VFX digital artists. Nick Fredin was a Senior Animator at Weta Digital and worked on great Hollywood block buster movies like The Avengers, The Hobbit series, X-Men, Planet of the Apes and many more. Jeff Pepper has credentials of AAA Games and Nickelodeon. He also worked as a Lead Animator at Canada and Australia studios.
Nick and Jeff’s goal is to identify and nurture each student on individual basis. They believe in personalized education which caters to the students specific needs and requirements. This is the best education practice which molds the novice artist into industry ready visual effects artist. Taking a new initiative, now they want to give the best competitive edge to the Australian VFX Industry. They have been running one step ahead from their peer competitors in the Media and Entertainment field.
CG Spectrum scholarships are worth over $500,000 to be given to 20 passionate Australian VFX artists. Their core mission is to grow the Australian VFX Industry. Students will be taught by the best Post Production and VFX houses like Iloura, Weta Digital, Sony Dreamworks, Ubisoft, EA, Pixar, Disney and many more. CG Spectrum and Iloura will be investing up to $1 Million for scholarships. There is also an opportunity to work at Iloura with paid internships. Iloura is one of the leading Australian VFX facility who had worked on Mad Max Fury Road, Ted, Spongebob The Movie, The Great Gatsby and many more.
Head of VFX Iloura, Simon Rosenthal, want their local feature film and game designers not to go outside for the job. The Australian market of Animation is getting recognized globally and CG Spectrum wants to take it on the next level. How to enter in CG Spectrum scholarships of $500,000 :
You have to submit the latest resume along with the cover letter. The resume must include essential details like name, address, contact number and your portfolio link. Clearly mention in a paragraph why you should be chosen for the scholarship. A reference letter from your Employer, Career Advisor or High School Principal is must.
The last date of submissions is 6th November, Friday 2015.
Who are eligible for the scholarship ?
- He/she must be an Australian citizen who has completed year 12
- Current students or CG Spectrum alumni can’t participate
- The student must be willing for full time studies
- Any student who is awarded with scholarship, must start within 2 months
- Hardware requirements includes high speed internet connection and specified configuration of the computer as per the course brochure
- All softwares and master classes are included in the said scholarship
