Job descriptions

Given below are generic job descriptions as per Indian AVGC industry, aligned with years of experience required.

1. Editor (6+ years)

Responsible for assembling raw footage, applying cuts, transitions, and effects to create polished final sequences. Softwares will be Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Avid. Must have strong storytelling sense and attention to pacing.

He/she must be able to work under tight deadlines while collaborating with directors and supervisors.

2. CG Supervisor (12+ Years)

Oversees all CG production pipelines. Must ensure technical and creative quality across all 3D departments including assets, lighting, and rendering. Must possess strong leadership and problem solving abilities. Ability to mentor teams while managing client expectations is must.

3. Reviewer (8+ Years)

Reviews and evaluates VFX shots for quality and consistency using using DaVinci Resolve, RV Player, and Scratch. It must be aligned to creative briefs of clients.

Requires strong color and composition sense and excellent communication skills

4. Senior Animator (8-10 Years)

Creates high quality character and creature animations with strong attention to emotion using Maya or Blender. Must have expertise in body mechanics, acting performance. Ability to interpret director’s vision is must. Based on requirement, the animation style can vary from realistic to semi. 

5. Animator (5-8 Years)

To create character, creature, or object animations based on director and lead guidance. Requires solid understanding of animation principles and ability to take feedback positively. Should be able to deliver quality work within deadlines.

6. Animation Lead (9-12 Years)

Leads a team of animators by assigning shots and ensuring animation quality across sequences from different animators. Must have excellent leadership. He/she acts as a bridge between artists and supervisors.

7. Line Producer (10-12 Years)

Handles the budget and schedule for VFX projects from start to finish. Makes sure the team has everything they need to deliver on time. Works directly with clients and studio leadership. Proficiency in Shotgun and Advanced Excel is required.

8. Associate Line Producer (8-10 Years)

Supports the Line Producer in managing budgets and tracking project progress. Coordinates with different teams and external vendors. Keeps stakeholders informed about project status. Proficiency in Shotgun and Advanced Excel is required.

9. Senior Production Coordinator (5-7 Years)

Tracks daily progress and schedules for the production team. Communicates between artists and supervisors to keep things running smoothly. Spots potential delays before they become problems. Proficiency in Shotgun and Advanced Excel is required. VFX studio experience is a must.

10. Production Coordinator (2-5 Years)

Tracks shot progress and updates production databases. Helps coordinate artist schedules and supports supervisors with daily tasks. Keeps data accurate and organized. Proficiency in Shotgun and Advanced Excel is required. VFX studio experience is a must.

11. FX Supervisor (12+ Years)

Leads the FX team and decides how to create effects like fire, water, and destruction. Guides artists and solves technical problems. Makes sure the work meets quality standards and deadlines. Knowledge of Houdini is required.

12. Senior FX Artist (8-10 Years)

Creates complex effects like explosions, water, and smoke. Works independently on challenging shots. Helps junior artists improve their skills. Knowledge of Houdini is required.

13. FX Artist (5-8 Years)

Creates effects like fire, smoke, and debris based on project needs. Works closely with other teams to make sure effects look right in the final shot. Takes feedback and makes improvements. Knowledge of Houdini is required.
