Post Technology Alliance of Netflix with Blackmagic Design will ease the shooting and post production workflow.
Netflix is household name for the media and entertainment savvy generation. It is leading brands in the OTT (Over the Top) segment. Netflix continuously releases international and local video contents, with maintaining specified standard parameters. Well, it is a mammoth task to combine creative and technical aspects flawlessly.
For the same, Netflix has introduced ‘Post Technology Alliance’. The said program is for the industry leading brands that operates in the arena of sound, image and video from initial shooting to final post production pipeline. The core aim of this Post Technology Alliance is to make benchmark quality standards for the production workflow for every content to be uploaded on Netflix platform. It will work for all creative and technical artists all around the world.
As per the official business announcement, Blackmagic Design has joined this Netflix’s Post Technology Alliance on 2nd October, 2018. As per the press report:
- Blackmagic Design’s professional editing, visual effects, motion graphics, color correction and audio post production software DaVinci Resolve is selected for three technology categories: Color Grading, Editorial and IMF & Media Encoding.
- Blackmagic Design’s URSA Mini 4.6K and URSA Mini Pro are selected in ‘Camera’ category.
Grant Petty, CEO, BMD said on the announcement of Post Technology Alliance of Netflix with Blackmagic Design, “Professionals creating films and episodic shows for Netflix have to focus on creativity, quality and being able to launch globally in multiple formats. So having a post process that is efficient, easy to use and always improving is essential. We are honored Netflix sees that DaVinci Resolve brings that in each of the software categories of the Post Technology Alliance”.

BMD recently integrated VFX, motion graphics and compositing software Fusion into DaVinci Resolve 15. This integration has smoothen up the production pipeline of visual effects artists, editors and colorists. DaVinci Resolve has already been used for some of Netflix originals including Daredevil, She’s Gotta Have It and The Ranch.
