Digital Domain is the leading Visual Effects and Virtual Reality (VR) studio. Apart from having solid credentials in various IP (Intellectual Property) projects, top notch VFX and Post Production services for blockbuster Hollywood movies, advertisements, scratch to finalized VR output, it has also extended technical and scientific expertise in creating virtual humans. Virtual Teresa Teng and Tupac from Digital Domain had created mammoth waves in Media and Entertainment industry. To add one more feather in cap, Digital Domain India (DDI) has organized one of a kind ‘VR Hackathon’ at Hyderabad.
Essential details of VR Hackathon by Digital Domain:
The participation is free of cost. It is a proper challenge, where participants had to go through scrutiny process. The first stage was the qualifier round of online programming challenge. It ran through 10th to 26th February, 2018. Only the finalists will participate in the final stage of offline VR Hackathon, scheduled on 10th and 11th March, 2018 at Hyderabad.
The Virtual Realty competition is on four different technology sectors.
- HACK-VR / Pipeline TD
- HACK-VR / Core Software Engineer
- HACK-VR / Backend Developer
- HACK-VR / Unity Developer
The core objective of the VR Hackaton is to develop awareness about Virtual Reality and its related applications, along-with prospective job opportunities in the same field. It will open new options for fresh talent. It is a great initiative from DD to boost local talent in emerging technologies.
Judges panel will include Digital Domain LA based respective HODs of above mentioned four technologies. They will come to Hyderabad for handling complete evaluation and winners announcement. DDI mentors and management will help them in the process.
Prizes of VR Hackaton:
Fame and money, of course. VR job offer at DDI is a bonus!
Winners will have INR 50,000 as cash prize with other goodies. They will also stand a chance to be grabbed in the creative and technical talent pool of Digital Domain and work on exciting international projects. Job location will be Digital Domain India’s Virtual Reality team, Hyderabad.
