Bahubali franchise has revolutionized Indian Animation and VFX industry. Apart from box office figures, it is high on critics note. Team of S. S. Rajamouli and Prabhas had proved that a strong content, fusioned seamlessly with high-end visual effects can achieve the impossible. On the same note, Kollywood is now coming up with India’s first space movie ‘Tik Tik Tik’. Director of ‘Tik Tik Tik’, Shakti Soundar Rajan, is well known for his out-of-the-league yet commercially successful movies. He had made his mark in Tamil film cinema industry with movies like Naanayam, Naaigal Jaakirathai and Miruthan. Following his own path, Tik Tik Tik is set up in genre of space adventure movies.

Jayam Ravi published first look motion poster on 17^th July. He is seen as hanging on a rope in space suit. His major co-stars are Nivetha Pethuraj, Aaron Aziz and Ramesh Thilak. As per the press statement of Shakti, Tik Tik Tik will not have any song apart from montage purpose. He is very well aware of the fact that space has very limited elements to catch the audience throughout the movie, but he is confident on his script and team. They are pushing the envelope hard to make it one of the best space sci fi movies. The teaser of India’s first space movie Tik Tik Tik will be aired on 15^th August, 2017. Space movie websites are already counting this one as one of finest Jayam Ravi movies.

2. Chanda Mama Door Ke: It is inspired from Hollywood blockbuster movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Movie backdrop theme is India’s first space mission of landing on moon. Major star cast includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui, R. Madhavan and Sushant Singh Rajput.
3. Mangal Ho: Indian science fiction comedy by Pritish Chakraborty. The theme is about first Indian civilization on Mars.

On international frontier, Hollywood is producing a huge number of space movies from years. Star Wars franchise is the leading title in top space movies. First Star Wars movie released in 1977 and the latest episode Rogue One released in 2016. It had seen mammoth technical advancements of film making over several decades. Apart from typical VFX techniques (rotoscoping, chroma, matte painting, wire /rig removal, matchmoving, CGI integration etc.), it relied heavily on miniature, motion capture, animatronics, detailed facial expressions capturing to increase productivity with cutting edge technologies. George Lucas’s ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) had been very much instrumental in mind blowing Animation and VFX of the entire Star Wars movies. Other Hollywood best space movies are Avatar, Gravity, Alien, Total Recall, Prometheus, Interstellar, The Martian and Star Trek series.
